Understand Your Feelings: 5 Emotions We All Feel As Humans

What We Feel Inside

All emotions, good and bad, are important because they allow us to feel and experience life in different ways. They also help us to better understand ourselves, helping us to grow in the process. Here are five complex emotions that we all feel as humans.

1. Jealousy

Jealousy is often seen as an ugly emotion, but it's one that's felt by everyone. Sometimes, we want what we can't have, or we wish that we were as lucky or fortunate as others. It's normal to want the best for yourself and to feel sad when you're unable to get it.

2. Disappointment

Because we put so much trust in others and have so many high expectations for ourselves, we sometimes feel disappointed when things don't turn out the way we wanted them to. Whether it's because you got your hopes up, were betrayed by someone else, or weren't lucky enough, disappointment is a common emotion we all share.

3. Fear

One of the most important emotions we feel, fear helps us stay safe and respond quickly to dangerous threats or situations. Fear is what allows us to put ourselves first to make decisions that work best for our survival.

4. Boredom

In today's day and age, people experience boredom more than ever before. Which feels ironic, given that we have more entertainment available in the palm of our hands than we've had in the past. But that feeling when you want to do something but don't know what to do and have no energy to do it, is one that feels all to familiar to most of us.

5. Gratitude

When our hearts and soul are touched by acts of kindness, whether it be from close friends, family, or even strangers, we feel immense gratitude. This beautiful feeling simply allows us to experience what it means to feel deeply appreciative of someone.
