Treat Yourself: 5 Tips For Planning Your Cheat Days

Time To Dig In!

It's finally here - your cheat day! After working so hard to stay on track with your goals, cheat days feel like a dream come true, where you can finally indulge in those food cravings you've been working so hard to hold back on. There's a lot more to cheat days than just digging into your favorite foods, though; here are five tips to help you plan smartly.

1. Practice Mindful Eating

If you're going to enjoy this delicious day of cheat meals, make sure you savor every moment and appreciate the food. Scarfing it all down in one go won't just make the time pass by too quickly, you won't be able to enjoy it! Make sure you're present for every bite, which helps cultivate healthier eating habits.

2. Don't Go Overboard

After being strict about your diet for so long, you may be tempted to go a little overboard with your newfound freedom. But instead of going crazy and eating every unhealthy thing you can find, make sure to keep yourself in check and reel it in. You're allowed to enjoy your cheat day, but it should still be structured and thoughtful so you don't ruin all those healthy habits you've adopted.

3. Plan Ahead
